Projects objectives
        With small exception, productions which are obtained in viticultural exploitations from the western part of Romania are relatively small and not always satisfactory qualitatively speaking.
        This fact is due to some objective causes, but also to some subjective ones.
        The causes of these unsatisfactory productions are:
        -reduced financial resources of the majority viticultural exploitations
        -non-performing culture technologies due to the concordance absence between natural resources of the culture area, biological varieties necessities which are given in assortments and endowment level of viticultural exploitations.
        Although researches concerning different technological sequences are numerous enough, these have a punctiform approach and what is missing is the researches with a multiple interdisciplinary approach, due to what we may elaborate performant and complete culture technologies.
        The aim of this project is a complex interdisciplinary approach in which near strictly viticultural problems we will be concentrated also on ampelographic, agrochemical, physiological, agrotechnical and plants protection aspects, because we consider that the only way to elaborate a viticultural high durable culture technology.

In this way the project is proposing the following objectives:

1. The appreciation of the ecological, biological resources and of the technological level practiced in the western Romania viticultural areas.
        During last years period, in the western part of Romania were registered big fluctuations of the climate factors with important implications on vineyards and because of that a new analysis of the climate resources and culture technologies adaptation to the new conditions is to be imposed.

 2. Sequential pursuit of the culture technologies practiced in the reference areas.
        Culture technologies practiced in those areas are with small exception, the classic ones inherited from generation to generation, the reason why the results are unsatisfactory and there cannot be compared with the results obtained in the European viticultural exploitations.
        It is imposed a new inventorying of those technologies  which  specify their advantages and disadvantages.

3. New culture technologies elaboration, which will take into consideration the assortment, the ecological resources and durable viticulture requests.
        Given the new climate, ecological, social and economical juncture it becomes necessary a tight interdisciplinary collaboration, a complex approach which is taking into consideration those changes in order to elaborate durable technologies which are to include the news and the innovator solutions of the European countries viticulture, which is still adapted to the specific ecological conditions and to the cultivated assortment.
        The elaboration of those technologies it must have in the foreground durable viticulture principles through which we have in view the quality of the products but mostly the decrease of the harmful impact about the environment, about life quality, the main purpose being the obtaining of some friendly products for the human body.

 4. The comparative analysis of five technological models, with the identification of the sequences with positive and negative aspect about production and quality.
        Proposing those new technologies we have the possibility to make a comparison: a durable alternative to the classic technologies, which is only in the viticultural exploitations benefit.

5. Varieties identification which lend themselves to the new technological models.
        Into the main viticultural areas there is a big variety of bio-types including local varieties and bio-types which were not sufficient researched, the reason why we are proposing their revival.
        From those very rich viticultural cultivars we will pick the valuable varieties and bio-types which lend themselves to durable culture technologies and which bring the necessary authenticity and quintessence of the viti-vinicole products.

6. The elaboration on the basis of comparative analyses of the most indicated technological models for each viticultural area, taking into consideration work force deficit.
        There will be elaborated new culture technologies which will have in the foreground soil and environment protection and finally human protection.
        Into the frame of those technologies there will be organized experiences with different technological sequences:
        - soil maintenance systems: biological system, plants utilisation as green fertilisers, black cultivated field;
        - different fruit loadings depending on variety, vine, natural conditions, production destination;
        - differentiate in green works and operations;
        - whole extinction of diseases and pests taking into consideration non-polluting biological measures;
        - the establishment of the optimal moment for grapes harvest depending on production destination.

7. The implementation and popularization of the new technological models.
            The new proposed durable technologies will be presented to all interested people by publishing books and manuals, organizing debate sessions, symposiums, round tables, practical demonstrations.
            Grant’s team and their co-workers will set up experimental comparative plots in all studied areas: Miniş, Buziaş and Recaş in order to obtain a research impact larger and direct in all named viticultural areas which is offered to all interested people.

 8. The pursuit of the way in which the new technologies are reflected in viticultural and wine making products quality, and exploitations efficiency.
            Research team together with its partners and co-workers will be able to see if the new proposed technologies will bring any contribution to the durable development of each viticultural area and to the efficiency increase of the exploitations activities.
            We will also be able to see comparatively speaking if the quality of the obtained products on experimental plots and through classic technologies are having any impact among consumers.
            We consider that project objectives can be successfully accomplished due to interdisciplinary approach which represents a first performance for this viticultural area of some multiple aspects concerning viticultural techniques, genetic resources, agro chemistry, physiology and grapevine protection against pests and diseases.
